Teaching Skills (Pedagogy)
Evidence-based strategies for active, inclusive classrooms.
This course equips teachers with practical, evidence-based pedagogical strategies to create engaging and effective learning experiences.
You will learn how to design well-structured lesson plans, use purposeful questioning techniques to promote critical thinking, and apply scaffolding strategies that support learners as they develop independence. The course also explores formative and summative assessment methods, effective feedback techniques, and collaborative learning approaches that foster teamwork and communication. You will discover how to implement project-based learning to connect classroom learning with real-world contexts, adopt the flipped classroom model to maximise active learning during class time, and use sketchnoting as a visual learning strategy to improve comprehension, creativity and retention.
By the end of the course you will have a toolkit of modern teaching practices that promote active, inclusive and learner-centred classrooms.
